Do you really care? If not, trust me, nothing you're going to read here is engaging enough to spend time on...
Well, don't say I didn't warn you. (cue "The Dating Game" music)
Born to a nurse (mother) and soldier (father) who was between tours in Vietnam, I started the kind of peripatetic existence that is usually saved for fugitives and hobos. Georgia, Virginia, Hawaii, Rhode Island, North & South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Austria, Japan and Poland have all nestled me in their respective bosoms for a time.
Having convinced a friend to marry me, she and I decided to have a critter (read: daughter) while in Japan. We then realized that we needed to get back to the states to start the awkward task of settling down. The parameters for finding a place to live were "four seasons, nearby mountains, low crime, restaurants/bars, idiosyncratic personality, left-leaning, biking and skiing." Armed with the website find your spot (.com), we found Brattleboro, Vermont.
Having never been here before, we moved to Brattleboro in 2007 and haven't had a moment's regret.
